About us

JVFG was founded with the aim to publish contemporary Jewish congregational literature, especially for European congregations. We publish textbooks (both educational and academic), liturgical material, introductions, ... and all things needed in Jewish congregational life in all European languages. Our name mirrors the German Jewish heritage in the United Kingdom: Juedischer Verlag fuer Gemeindeliteratur (which means Jewish Publisher for congregational literature).

Our books are available for ALL who are interested in contemporary Jewish Life and are available worldwide via book stores and online sellers. JVFG produces original works in different European languages but also Brazilian Portuguese as well as translations of classical and proven texts from other countries. The titles appear in print and in digital formats.

The themes of JVFG reflect the various areas of Jewish community life: preparing services, sermons, or Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, prayer books and bibles, booklets that give comfort in the hospital or funeral home, introductions into Judaism and material to prepare for conversion, Jewish gifts and special editions of classic Jewish texts and Jewish humour. Special attention is also given to the musical traditions of Jewish worship and Jewish liturgy in general.

The books are available via established distribution sources with the usual retailer’s discounts. The titles can therefore be ordered in any local book store, via Internet or of course from JVFG directly.
